What does it cost to use the Rummble WAP site?
The WAP version of the Rummble mobile service is available by going to the bookmark:
http://www.Rummble.com from your mobile device browser. You will then get the choice of visiting the WAP site, downloading the Rummble mobile Java application, or visiting the regular internet site (we only recommend you use the regular website on your mobile if you have a suitable handheld device with a big enough screen and fast enough connection!)
NB: If you have a phone from 2005 or newer, it is worth trying to download our free Rummble mobile Java application, which gives a better user experience than the WAP site.
How do I enter a bookmark on my phone?
The answer to this question depends on your phone. It is best to refer to your mobile phone manufacturers handbook to find how to enter a bookmark to visit a WAP site.
What is WAP?
WAP stands for Wireless Access Protocol. It is is an open international standard for applications that use wireless communication. Its principal application is to enable access to the Internet from a mobile phone or PDA.
Many newer mobile phones now include browsers than can read full XHTML or HTML from regular websites; however if you are using a slow connection (such as GPRS) then it can be very boring to use as you wait for pages to load. So, the trade off is that with our WAP site you get a faster experience, but its less fun to look at! You choose!
Is a WAP site HTML?
A true WAP site is written in WMP, the Wireless Markup Language, based on XML, is a content format for devices that implement the WAP Wireless Application Protocol specification, such as mobile phones, and preceded the use of other markup languages now used with WAP, such as XHTML and even standard HTML (which are gaining in popularity as processing power in mobile devices increases).
What does it cost to use the Rummble WAP site?
We do not charge you for using our WAP site or the Rummble services on the WAP site. But your mobile phone operator may charge you for using "data services", depending on your tariff. More about cost of data services.
